Reliant Scimitar GTE

Name: Scimitar GTE
Make: Reliant
Year: 1975

The Reliant Scimitar GTE was introduced in 1968, an upgrade from the Scimitar GT Coupe of 1965.

Scimitars were made at the Reliant factory in Tamworth. The bodywork was designed by Ogle and was constructed of glass fibre built on a steel box section chassis. The engine was a Ford Essex ohv V6.

By 1970 the GTE had become so popular Reliant dropped the GT Coupe to concentrate on the GTE estate. Orders for the car were also given a boost when both Prince Charles and Princess Anne purchased one.
