Description
Write computer programmes to draw out shapes and create a pattern inspired by Coventry.
Designed for ages 11 - 16, this MicLab workshop (Made in Coventry Lab) is led by an expert team from Warwick University's Warwickshire Manufacturing Group.
Through a series of exercises, children will learn to write computer programmes to draw out shapes, applying their knowledge of geometry and measurement. They will then use the programmes to create their own designs inspired by Coventry, adapting them to take advantage of the greater intricacy which can be achieved by the embroidery machine.
As part of this 3-hour workshop, all participating children will receive lunch, served from the museum café, Esquires. Please let any food allergies be known at the time of booking. Parents are not required to stay for the duration of this workshop, but are welcome too, should they wish to.
