Old Friends Reunited via the 1953 Humber Picture

06 February 2012

You may remember that last December, our Coventry Memories website celebrated its First Anniversary and to celebrate, we ran the story of the photograph from 1953 of the Humber/Hillman Apprentices.

We've had an amazing response to the story and on Friday 3rd February, two of those workers met up again at the Museum 40 years after they last saw each other. Both Brian Payne and Tony Poole worked at the Rootes Group for over 30 years and came into the Museum to be part of an interview day with film director - Duane Hopkins, who is researching former car worker experiences for a character is his latest film production.

Look out for the story in the Coventy Telegraph newspaper soon.

If the names Brian Payne or Tony Poole ring a bell in your mind, then do let us know via the Coventry Memories website - www.coventrymemories.co.uk
