Vintage Sleigh tradition continues through the kind support of local businesses

The Vintage Sleigh Ride experience returns to Coventry Transport Museum next week - including a new winter wonderland – even though their decorations supplier dropped out. However, in true Christmas spirit, local organisations pulled together to ensure the 60-year-old tradition is more magical than ever.

Visitors this year will be able to wander through a magical winter wonderland of festive activities and snowy scenes before taking a ride on an enchanting vintage sleigh, meeting Santa and collecting a special gift.

The experience wouldn’t have been possible without the kind support of Debenhams who gifted magnificent decorations and dressings to enhance the Winter Wonderland, Smith’s Nurseries & Garden Centre who provided the museum with several enchanting Christmas trees, Ani’s Ribbons and Ruffles who provided fabric for festive costumes, Jokers Corner who provided the rest of the festive garments and the NADFAS group who created incredible made to measure costumes.

Finally, a huge thank you to the Business Improvement District who have provided the museum with large interactive games for families to enjoy whilst waiting to depart to Lapland.

The kind support of all of the businesses above has made the experience as magical as possible for visitors and the museum is extremely grateful for the support.

The Vintage Sleigh Ride and Winter Wonderland is a separate activity to the museum's permanent exhibitions and museum admission tickets are not required. Entry to the museum is free for Go CV cardholders and heavily discounted admission tickets are available as an add-on to the sleigh experience from £2.

There are no gifts for adult riders of the sleigh.

This event is drop-in only.
