Trash Film Club VS. Street Fighter

FarGo Village

01 July 2022 to 01 July 2022 (20:30 - 22:00)

Description

‘Hadouken!’ Video games never make very good films, so no surprise that the 1994 adaptation of hit beat-em-up Street Fighter turned out to be an absolute stinker, chock-a-block with terrible dialogue, a nonsensical plotline and awful accents. Trash Film Club hosts Luke and David will be guiding bemused audiences through this cinematic abomination, touching on a chaotic shoot that included military coups and an erratic lead actor, as well as the undeniable pleasure of seeing Raul Julia zoom around on rocket boots. Trash Film Club hosts Luke and David will be providing live commentary during the film – so if you want to watch the film in respectful silence, you’re in the wrong place! Standard Ticket: £5 advance / £7 on the door Deluxe Ticket: £7 advance / £9 on the door *Deluxe tickets include a free bag of Popcorn or Pick N Mix sweets, plus seats closest to the stage. Delicious street food can also be ordered via QR codes on tables. We offer a comprehensive menu of options to cater for a range of diets, from resident traders Stripclub Street Food (burgers, fries), Herbivore (vegan/vegetarian pizza), FEED (fried chicken, fries), Paneer Wrap Company (wraps, fries, spring rolls), and Get US Baked (desserts, coffees.) Trash Film Club presents the world’s most notorious cinematic “disasterpieces” accompanied by live commentary from TFC hosts Luke and David. They have been FarGo residents since October 2021 as part of CineCov. About CineCov: CineCov is a 12-month programme that will transform the whole of Coventry into a cinema for its year as UK City of Culture – popping up all over the city, from parks and community centres to towpaths and churches. Brought to you by the team behind Flatpack Festival on behalf of Film Hub Midlands with support from the BFI using funds from the National Lottery.
