Coventry Car Day - Saturday 9th June
11 June 2012
Saturday 9th June was a very special day for both car enthusiasts and students of Coventry University both alumni and present, because it was Coventry Car Day.
Coventry University celebrated it's various Automotive Design and Journalist courses with a combination of special VIP guests who are former Graduates of Coventry University, and the fabulous cars they have had first hand input in creating.
We were invited to take some of our superb collection to University Square, opposite Coventry Cathedral, so on display for the day were: a 1934 Hillman Minx, a 1928 Alvis Speed 25 and a 1968 Triumph Herald...all Coventry built cars.
Also if you were in Coventry city centre on Saturday, you would have seen in Broadgate Squre; an Austin 3 Way Van and an Austin Gypsy Fire Tender, both Coventry built vehicles with an impressive heritage.
Visitors to Coventry Car day topped over 4,000...we hope you had a great day albeit a bit windy but it remained dry!
The next big Festival event in our calendar will be the Coventry Festival of Motoring over the August Bank Holiday - 25th & 26th at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.
