Happy 1st Birthday Coventry Memories Website!

07 December 2011

We are very proud to announce that the Coventry Memories Website was 1 year old on the 1st December

It was launched last year with our friend Bob Brolly from BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, during his lunchtime show 12 noon till 2pm, with a host of famous names who lived and or work or worked in Coventry.

During the website's first year, it has gained 160 stories and memoirs which averages out at 3 stories per week for every week of 2011, so a BIG thank you to everyone who has contributed this year.

With the year 2012 rapidly approaching, there are lots of topics that we want to hear from you about. For example the 25th Anniversary of Coventry City FC winning the FA Cup - coming up in May 2012, memories of being part of the Olympics somewhere in the World or with 'Coldplay' coming to perform at the Ricoh Arena next May....we want your memories of watching a famous band or singer at the Coventry Theatre, Belgrade Theatre or the Godiva Festival.

To add your memory, just go to the Coventry Memories website.

As part of the celebrations we have released a recently acquired photograph of Humber-Hillman apprentices from 1953 and we are keen to try to find some of the people who appear in the photograph. The overall response has been very positive, so please keep the memories and anecdotes coming.
