Esquires Coffee House Owner Bikes Across America
20 April 2011
Serial fundraiser Steven Prime, owner of Esquires Coffee House within the Museum, is getting back in the saddle for charity, and this time he’s taken on the entire USA.
Having recently completed the John O’Groats to Land’s End cycling challenge, Steven has now set his sights on a far more strenuous fundraising task. On the 25th July, together with his friend Dayle Walker, he will be biking across America covering 3000 miles in just 30 days.
The duo will begin their journey in Surf City in North Carolina before crossing 11 states of America to reach their finishing line in Santa Monica, California on the 23rd August.
All the money raised by this journey will be donated to Coffee Kids, a charity Steven has supported for some time through Esquires.
Commenting on the journey, Steven said:
“I’m so excited about the trip. Once you’ve been bitten by the charity bug you can’t help but look forward to new fundraising opportunities and I’m so glad to be taking on this new challenge with one of my oldest and closest friends.
“Not only will Cycle America push me personally but it will also help to raise awareness and funds for a cause I really believe in. Coffee is obviously a big part of my life and helping to create a sustainable future for coffee growing families and communities is very important to me.”
Further information on the documentary and the trip is available on the website www.cycleamerica2011.com. Those wanting to support Steven in his fundraising efforts will also find further details on donating at this site.
