Our Future Moves Exhibition at Coventry Transport Museum

Exciting live demonstrations of Coventry, Warwickshire’s and the West Midlands world -leading technological innovations showcased what future travel may look like at the official launch of Our Future Moves at Coventry Transport Museum.
This major exhibition runs until October 31 within a 12-month programme of events, as part of Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture. It features a diverse range of pioneering exhibits from autonomous vehicles to AI facial recognition cars and submarines for a single person.
The launch day, on Saturday July 17, also the launch of MotoFest Month 2021, included a Skyfarer® drone take off in Millennium Place, West Midlands Police drones as eyes in the sky, a Vital Auto interactive car grill that mimics how you are feeling by reading your facial expression, a Balfour Beatty app, showing the future of lighting control and how lights can influence movement as well as a Robot showcasing how robots are used in precision engineering from WMG at the University of Warwick
The interactive and ambitious exhibition tells the stories of the objects on display by envisioning how future cities may look and exploring how pioneering developments in transport and technology could affect the environment and the way we live.
A range of partners from across the region have come together to create Our Future Moves and objects on display include an Aurrigo autonomous shuttle, Coventry Very Light Rail (VLR) model, a Coventry University autonomous racing vehicle and display of unmanned aerial vehicle projects, Jaguar I-PACE, Microcab Industries Ltd hydrogen car, GE electric propulsion unit, KIVNON Mobile Robotics and a University of Warwick nano satellite which monitors wildlife populations.
What better place to demonstrate our ability to innovate – past, present and future, than in the home of the cycle industry and birth place of the motor car in the UK.
Coventry Transport Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of British Road Transport, including the three fastest cars on the planet - illustrating Coventry’s role in transport innovation through the ages.
MotoFest usually attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to Coventry city centre each year and this year is held over three themed weekends until August 8, due to Covid restrictions.
The strategic partners delivering the ambitious and inspiring Our Future Moves programme include Coventry City Council, CV Life, Culture Coventry, Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Coventry City of Culture Trust, Coventry University, MotoFest , Transport for West Midlands, Warwickshire County Council and WMG at the University of Warwick.

“Our Future Moves will see a year of activities, beginning with a must-see exhibition at the Coventry Transport Museum which looks at how Coventry and the wider region has become the centre of innovation for future transport, from very light rail through to the world’s first Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) Urban Air Port®.”
