Inspired by the resourcefulness of children during WWII, this highly interactive session invites young makers to transform recycled scraps into one-of-a-kind toys — just like kids did when materials were scarce and ingenuity ruled the day.

What’s in store:

Design, build, and take home your own handmade toy - A keepsake crafted by you, powered by creativity and the spirit of “make do and mend.”
Explore STEM through history as you discover how wartime challenges sparked innovation and play.
Get crafty with recycled materials and learn how everyday items became treasured toys.
Discover the stories behind the scraps — and how children turned limitations into joyful creations.
Come for the history, stay for the fun — and leave with a toy made by you!
