With a different activity each day, join in our challenge of inventing an amazing bus of the future! Create a dreamy bus-imaginarium; pack a suitcase; make a special postcard; and mark out your travels on maps. You can take your creation home straight away or leave it with us over the summer so we can give it a special place in our summer exhibition Ticket to Ride, all about buses!

Saturday 26 May
Postcards
Imagine you are on a long bus journey… where would you go? What would you see? Who would you like to share your adventures with?
Make a unique postcard and write a special secret message about your adventures using invisible ink.

Monday 28 May
Dreamy Bus Imaginarium
If you could travel in your very own, dreamy bus what would it look like? What features would it need?
During this workshop let your imagination run free and create your dream bus using clay.
This activity can get messy! We would recommend wearing clothes that you are happy to get dirty. Sinks are provided.

Tuesday 29 May
Shaping Buses
Take recycled paper, glue, water, wire and tights and you have the basic recipe for an amazing family activity exploring different bus shapes. Using paper making techniques we will create unique bus shapes that you can either leave with us to dry and collect a few days later or take home with you and observe how your creation changes over time.
This activity can get messy! We would recommend wearing clothes that you are happy to get dirty. Sinks are provided.

Wednesday 30 May
Future Travel
Get engineering! What would your bus of the future look like?
Travel technology is always evolving. In the city of Coventry we have electric buses, buses with automatic ramps, free wifi and even charging docks for your phone. They are also more comfortable than ever.
What other improvements would you make? Use a variety of materials to let your ideas take shape.

Thursday 31 May
Tracing Journeys
Maps are essential to travels. They provide information about where you have come from and where you want to go. Being able to read maps and trace your journey is a great skill.
Have a go at reading maps while making a memory relief map of your very own journeys.

Friday 1 June
The Environmentally Friendly Bus
Buses are a great way to help the environment. They substitute cars and, with the development of an electric bus, are more environmentally friendly than lots of fuel operated cars.
Using recyclable and non-recyclable material, we invite you to create a bus that could save the world.

Saturday 2 June
Suitcases
What would you take with you on your travels? Which five essential items need to be in your suitcase? Have a go at making these items with a variety of materials and create a suitcase collage.

Visitors may be asked to wait during busy times.
