DESCRIPTION:Come along this May half term and help us make crazy code contraptions.As part of our activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, we are exploring the role of code breakers during the Second World War. In our Second World War exhibition (Exhibition 5), you can find objects that were involved in the war effort. Bicycles and motorcycles were dropped into enemy territory with parachutes to send messages quickly to allies. Being able to code and decode messages was very important. Breaking an enemy’s coded messages could win a war.   \n\nThis Saturday Engineers session invites all families to code, play, and make a coding device to take home. We will be thinking about different ways of coding through times including using a micro:bit coding machine and mechanical coding contraptions. \n\nDrop in | £3 per child (Cash only)\n\nLocation – Community Space (Exhibition 7, Black Cab)\n\nDesigned for age 5+, but all are welcome\n\n
