DESCRIPTION:Come along this May half term and help us make crazy code contraptions.As part of our activities to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, we are exploring the role of code breakers during the Second World War. In our Second World War exhibition (Exhibition 5), you can find objects that were involved in the war effort. Bicycles and motorcycles were dropped into enemy territory with parachutes to send messages quickly to allies. Being able to code and decode messages was very important. Breaking an enemy’s coded message could win a war.   \n\nTest your coding skills with our micro:bit coding machine. Then, a different task invites you to have a go at making a non-tech coding contraption using our challenge kit. Take home a mechanical coder and keep coding. What secret messages can you create? How will your secret messages be decoded?\n\n(Please be advised that our micro:bit coding machine is for testing only, we cannot provide a micro:bit set to take home.)\n\nDrop in | £3 per child (Cash only)\n\nLocation – Community Space (Exhibition 7, Black Taxi)\n\nDesigned for age 5+, but all are welcome.\n\n
