About the Museum
Coventry Transport Museum takes you on a journey through time, telling the story of Coventry’s proud motoring heritage – and a visit to the museum is most definitely not just for the die-hard transport enthusiast!
Yes, we are home to the world’s largest collection of British road transport, and a visit to the museum is a must for all petrolheads. But if you don’t know one end of a spanner from the other you will find just as much to inspire, surprise and delight you.
You’ll find yourself drawn into a dramatic social story – of Coventry and its people. This story is inextricably linked with the growth and decline of the city’s transport industry, and that’s the memory that you’ll be left with – a story of real people, real passions, and ultimately, real hope.
You’ll also come face to face with the fastest car in the world, current Land Speed Record Holder Thrust SSC, and even ride the new 4D Land Speed Record Simulator* to experience travelling through the sound barrier!
Coventry Transport Museum is also home of the Coventry Godcake – be sure to try a sample of this delicious piece of edible history while you’re here.
Oh, one final thing – admission to the museum is absolutely FREE – you can’t say fairer than that.
*Charges apply for the 4D simulator ride - £3.50 per person for groups of 10 or more.
