The Warwickshire Truck Convoy visits CTM

31 October 2014

On Saturday 25th October we hosted 29 fabulous truck cab tractor units from all over the UK, forming a spectacular display outside the museum.

The event raised over £2,200 for Troop Aid, after it was organised by Glyn White and Paul Brooke from Stratford upon Avon - they did a great job of pulling the whole event together in just four weeks, having not done anything like this before.

Amongst the wonderful array of truck cabs on Millennium Place were the Fallen Heroes Cab – honouring the fallen from the Afghanistan conflict, and the Great War Cab – acknowledging the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.

We were lucky enough to have an American Freightliner – “Mack” from the Pixar Movie “Cars”, along with 2 Torpedo nose Scania cabs from Ireland.

There were also cabs from Southampton, Nottingham, Reading and of course from Coventry & Warwickshire including Neil Bartlett from Baginton.

The winner of the Best Cab was Dave Norris with his fabulous Mercedes Truck Cab with an airbrush paint work, paying homage to the historical time line of Gottlieb Daimler, Karl Benz and other significant engineers in the development of Mercedes Benz.

The event was such a great success that we are now working with the organisers to bring the Convoy to the Coventry Festival of Motoring in 2015.
