Digital Tablet Technology in Pedals to Medals

04 October 2012

As featured in the Coventry Observer newspaper - Thursday 4th October www.coventryobserver.co.uk

For the final few weeks of the exhibition, an exciting new dimension has been added. As well as exploring the cycles and memorabilia items themselves, you can now use an interactive tablet to view specially commissioned films and galleries of photographs detailing the story of competitive cycling. The system is being trialled in Pedals to Medals  before being used in our forthcoming Autumn/Winter exhibition – Scootermania, which opens on Friday 26thOctober.

There are a number of interviews to be enjoyed using the touch screen tablet, featuring competitive cycling heroes Ernie Crutchlow from Bedworth and Tommy Godwin from the 1948 Olympic Games.

A series of specially commissioned films have also been produced explaining the history of cycle manufacturing in Coventry, and Coventry’s own Penny Farthing racing hero Tom Sabin.

Our greatful thanks go to Light Media for their help in developing this facility.

So when you're here in Pedals to Medals, try out the new digital tablet media unit...it's great!
